The New China Club opened in Reno in 1952 by returning WWII serviceman, Bill Fong. Games like Keno, fan tan
and pai gow became very popular in this casino and eventually a “Fong Open” for Asian and black gamblers attracted
celebrity guests such as Joe Lewis and Jesse Owens.
This is my latest giant casino chip that I have painted and it is preciously guarded by my little Bella, who will nibble at your feet if you try to touch the art.
My newest chip is this commission from one of my collectors who was actually conceived at the Desert Inn
and he specifically wanted this chip that circulated during his birth.
Enjoy! The Desert Inn was in operation from 1950-2000 and hosted
dignitaries like the Duke and Duchess of Windsor as well as President John F Kennedy and many notable Hollywood celebrities. 24 inch diameter on solid wood and hand painted with acrylic. Enjoy
The latest in my Casino Chip Series. This one will probably go to Rotterdam for my next show. The Hotel Thunderbird first opened in 1948 on the Las Vegas strip and was known for its Native American theme. Enjoy. The whole collection can be seen here: www.VictorSpinelli.com
In 1958 the California Club opened in Las Vegas on the corner of Fremont Street. This is yet another art piece from my giant “Casino Chip Series”. Painted with acrylic on solid wood (24 inch diameter X ¾ inch thick). Ready to hang in your entertainment room. In 1973 Wynn purchased the California Club and it then merged with the Golden Nugget. Hand painted unique piece. More of these fun pieces can be seen here: http://www.victorspinelli.com/#/casino-chips/
